Undoubtedly mention of auto rickshaw becomes very obvious whenever there is discussion about any region’s local transportation. Damoh region is also no exception. As here too auto rickshaws hold monopoly in local transportation. They, however, are mainly concentrated in headquarter city of Domah and its adjoining towns and are very sparsely spread across interiors of the district. To compensate for their minimal presence, private vehicles – mostly jeeps – do offer public transportation in the interior villages and towns. To conclude we can say that Damoh transportation system will receive much needed impetus if it addresses local transportation problem. That is it must not only increase number of auto rickshaws, but also widen their services to small villages and towns. As for connectivity is concerned, then district as such enjoys pretty good connectivity via rail, but it can be further improved if more state highways pass through the district. And lastly, good maintenance of local roads will also provide much needed boon to region’s local transportation.
